For our first game, I was really impressed. We were all in the right spots. We had good defense, pitching and hitting.

He plays with a full motor and runs full speed. He's gonna be a great player for us.

He pitched a great game, a fabulous game.

I knew the type of kid he was. He's tough mentally. That hasn't changed.

That helped set the tone. Then he (Upchurch) leads off and gets a hit.

They understand English but we didn't understand a word they were saying.

We're right there. I don't think we played a very good game. Errors. We were a little young (with three freshman starters) early. But we came back, we fought back. I was proud of the way we fought back.

We're honored to be chosen. We'll work as hard as we can to live up to it.
